It’s the Journey of a Lifetime — and a Lifetime Journey
What sparks your curiosity? Inspires you? Mystifies you?
The School of Arts and Sciences is the heart of Brandeis’ undergraduate academic experience within our thriving research university. It fuels exploration and discovery within our outstanding undergraduate liberal arts curriculum.
With its 44 majors and 50 minors, the school promotes interdisciplinary study and collaboration, and offers undergraduates opportunities to conduct original research.
Interested in physics and philosophy? Health care policy and musical composition? Whatever path — or, more likely, paths — you blaze, you’ll encounter inspiring faculty who are leaders in their fields and a welcoming community of fellow learners, teachers and scholars. Together with faculty mentors, you’ll chart an academic journey that will nourish your personal and intellectual growth and prepare you to succeed in a rapidly changing world.
One thing that hasn’t changed: Our bedrock principles of open inquiry, scholarship at the highest level and inclusivity. Guided by these values — the hallmark of a Brandeis education — we strive to help make the world a better, more just place.

Majors and Minors to Suit All Interests
We offer more than 40 majors and minors in the sciences, social sciences, humanities and creative arts. When you’re as curious as we are, choosing a single major can be difficult. Which is why more than half our students declare a double major. And sometimes, a minor, too. Learn more about what Brandeis students from different majors are doing with their degrees in the Hiatt Career Center's report, Beyond Brandeis.
